Every bead is a small invitation to pause, breathe, and pray with Mary as she leads us closer to her Son.

Begin with Intention

Before you start, find a quiet place. Hold your rosary and take a deep breath. Offer your prayer for someone or something close to your heart — a loved one, a need, or a moment of gratitude. This becomes your intention — the soul of your prayer.

Know the Structure

The rosary is divided into decades — sets of ten Hail Marys — each reflecting on a mystery in the life of Jesus and Mary.

There are four sets of Mysteries:

  • Joyful (Mondays & Saturdays)

  • Sorrowful (Tuesdays & Fridays)

  • Glorious (Wednesdays & Sundays)

  • Luminous (Thursdays)

Start with the Sign of the Cross

Hold the crucifix and begin:

“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

Then pray:

  • The Apostles’ Creed

  • One Our Father

  • Three Hail Marys (for Faith, Hope, and Charity)

  • One Glory Be

First Mystery

  • Announce the First Mystery (of the day).
  • On the large bead: Our Father.
On each of the 10 beads: Hail Mary (one per bead).
  • Then: Glory Be + Fatima Prayer (“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.”).
  • Repeat until you complete five Mysteries.

Reflect as You Pray

Each bead is an opportunity to meditate on the mystery — not to rush, but to rest in prayer.
You can look up the mysteries of the day or simply choose the one that speaks to your heart.

Close with Gratitude

After the five decades, many finish with the Hail, Holy Queen or a simple prayer of thanks.
You might say:

“Thank you, Jesus and Mary, for this time together. May this prayer bear fruit in my heart and in the world.”

Don’t worry about remembering every word or getting everything “right.”

The rosary isn’t a test — it’s a conversation of love.

Even one decade prayed with sincerity carries great grace.
